We were born and raised in the hollers of southern West Virginia and eastern Kentucky, and built our homestead to embrace the historic and cultural influences of the central Appalachian mountains.
At Mountainfolk Farm, we raise several breeds of chickens, heritage breed turkeys, and grass-fed Katahdin sheep, protected by our cherished sheepdog Luna. We also have a Blue Swedish Duck and what we suspect is a Nigerian Dwarf goat (given to us by some friends). Earlier this year, we added our first beehive. Spooky and Beanie are our cats and Greasy is our 15-year-old Italian Greyhound.
We just attended a breeding stock auction and increased our tiny flock of five to fourteen!
Can you even believe someone gave us this little cutie? His name is Smoky, and we think he might be a Nigerian Dwarf. So now we are in search of Smoky a friend.
We love our customers, so holler at us if you'd like to come visit.
